The Best Way To Whiten Teeth

"Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful."

–Thich Nhat Hanh

What you need:

Toothbrush

Toothpaste (Tom's of Maine is a good, readily available, natural brand)

Baking soda

Hydrogen peroxide

How often:

I suggest doing this twice a week for two weeks. Then, once a week for two weeks. You should see whitened teeth after this time, so all you need after the first month is maintenance. I do it once about every other week (and have been for years). You may find that you need to do it more often at first to reach your desired level of white. This is an effective treatment, but it's important not to overdo it. You could wear away the enamel of your teeth with too much abrasive scrubbing, so moderation is key.

Give this a try and share your beautiful, white and bright smile with the world!

What you do:

1. Add baking soda to the surface of the toothpaste on your toothbrush. I keep a container under the bathroom sink solely for this purpose.

2. Brush your teeth like you normally would, for at least 2 minutes.

3. Rinse.

4. Using hydrogen peroxide exactly like you would a mouthwash, swish around for at least two minutes...up to five if you can stand it. Spit it out and try not to rinse...the peroxide will continue to work after you're done swishing. I don't recommend gargling.

Why:

The baking soda is abrasive, so it scrubs away stains. Hydrogen peroxide is whitening. Unlike whitening strips, which are expensive and will irritate your gums, this treatment costs just pennies per use, there will be no irritation, and it really works!
